Tahiti Island Travel

Tahiti Overview

Tahiti is the largest island throughout the country of the same name, towering over ocean like a proud and royal Queen crowned by a circle of majestic peaks. The weather is ideal due to its tropical climate. Summer season from November through April is the best time to have a holiday in Tahiti.

Tahiti Main Attractions

The mountainous interior is adorned with deep valleys, clear streams, and high waterfalls, all bathed in green iridescence of Mother Nature's light. The coastal lands, edged with a rugged coastline, are home to fields of tropical flowers and most of the island's population. The Islands of Tahiti have something for every traveler - sugary white - sand beaches, vibrant marine life, rugged mountains, and colorful history. Tahiti is the ultimate South Pacific island paradise.

There is an interesting tourist attraction on the south side of Tahiti. It's called the Tahiti Lagoonarium and it's entertaining and fun for the whole family. It's a combination fish park and aquarium sort of thing. You'll walk along a boardwalk and enter into one of two plaster "shark mouths" and descend into the underwater "body" of the shark. The walls are all glass, and you'll see a myriad of different species of fish the Tahitian waters have to offer.

Tahiti Activities

If you’re being bothered by the same routine in holiday vacation, try something new in Tahiti. Venture off road and explore the pristine interior and beautiful coastline by 4x4 excursions, guided nature hikes or escorted tours. Discover the lagoon waters by diving, snorkeling, sailing, deep-sea fishing, outrigger canoeing or by guided catamaran tours.

Tahiti Accommodation & Dining

Searching for an accommodation is easy in Tahiti especially when you’re looking for enjoyment of the beachside resorts featuring luxurious spas, spectacular shows, fine restaurants, and the full range of rooms, suites, and bungalows. Tahiti offers the greatest range in lodging options of all the islands including a range of large to medium sized lagoon-side luxury resorts and simpler downtown hotels and the amazing twist to the lodgings is the warm hospitality of the Tahitians. Supplied by a daily bounty of fresh fish and fruits, Tahiti is replete with many fine restaurants. Several resorts regularly host Tahitian feasts with spectacular music and dance shows. You can never get hungry in Tahiti so have the Tahitian feast experience.

Tahiti Shopping & Nightlife

A night with the Tahitians can mean never-ending merrymaking. After the sun goes down, Tahitians like to make the place full of happy faces and happy thoughts. There are lots of opportunities to see the traditional Tahitian dances. What so enjoyable about the dance is that the dancers will latter invite you to join them, making every night loud and exciting. Hopping along the waterfront and in the Public Market of Papeete for Tahitian collectibles such as pareu, monoi oil, artwork, precious native wood carvings, and beautiful Tahitian Pearls is what Tahitian shopping means.

Getting To & Around Tahiti

Tahiti is served by Faa'a International Airport, which is close to the main city of Papeete. All international flights will land in Tahiti. The national airline carrier then operates flights to all of the other islands.
