Huahine Overview
Huahine is an island located among the Society Islands, in French Polynesia, an overseas territory of France in the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the Leeward Islands group. Huahine has tropical conditions with some rainfall in the summer months. Ideal conditions for tourists occur from May - October as trade winds cool the island.

The word Huahine means pregnant woman in Tahitian, and the island gets its name from its shape because when it is viewed from a distance it looks like a pregnant woman lying on her back.

However, you can still have your nightlife on your own. There are some alcoholic beverages in most of the stores around the island. As for shopping there are some long stretches of shops if you want to buy some jewelry. Venture one the pearls that comes in Tahitian designs.
Getting To & Around Huahine
You can reach Huahine using the Fare Airport. The airport is 4km north of Fare. You can also use Air Tahiti if you are coming from Bora Bora, Moorea, Papeete and Raiatea.
