South Padre Island Overview
South Padre Island is a small resort town on the southern tip of Padre Island off the coast of Texas, close to the border with Mexico. It is a popular spring break destination for college students. The island enjoys a humid subtropical climate that has relatively high dew point values, in summer time. The best time to visit the island is from June to September.

Next stop is another famed tourist destination in South Padre Island, the Port Isabel. The port was completed in 1852 to provide an entrance to the island. It showcases a spectacular view of the sea. South Padre Island shopping may be distinguished as other island destinations with items that are influence by the culture of the place. However, there is one shop that may catch your attention, The Turtle Shop. They are not selling turtles of any kind. They sell clothes, books, jewelry, and many others. The proceeds of this shop are for the Sea Turtle, Inc. for their missions and benefits.
Getting To & Around South Padre Island
The easiest way to reach the island is either by plane or by car. So if you're coming for other country, you can reach the island using the three airports serving South Padre Island: Valley International Airport, South Padre Island Airport and McAllen Miller International Airport. When travelling by a car, use the Texas State Route 100.
