There are several islands in Canada and US that are quite popular. The super model amongst the US islands is of course the Amelia islands. The Fernandina beach here is a sign of heritage and attracts a lot of tourists. The last amongst the chain of Elizabeth islands is the Cuttyhunk where the beach bonfires, clambakes, and smorgasbord of native deer add to its popularity. The Iles De La Madeleine is a chain of islands in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and boasts of nesting 12 different types of sea mammals. Prince Edward Island houses the pilgrimage place of many Japanese fans, Cavendish, being the birth place of the author L.M. Montgomery.

Getting To & Around North America Islands
Jacksonville is the closest airport to Amelia islands. The place is also connected by regular flights from Atlanta and Miami. The Cuttyhunk island, is connected to the Boston International airport. There is also a ferry that runs between Cuttyhunk and New Bedford. Similarly, the other islands are also connected either by fights or through a convenient sea route. Flights from Montreal and Quebec City are regular to the Iles de la Madeleine. The Confederation Bridge links the Prince Edward island to the mainland through a 4-5 hours drive.
