Hvar Overview
Hvar, also known as Dalmatian Island is an island located between Korcula Island and Island of Brac, off the coast of Croatia. The climate of Hvar is Mediterranean, characterized by mild winters and warm summers. The best time to visit the island is during July and August.

The famous attraction of Hvar Island is the picturesque natural setting. The island faces the south, the beautiful sun and the turquoise sea. It is well known in Croatia for its pleasant, very specific climate with a lot of sunshine, very few rainy days and almost no snow at all. Other attractions of Hvar are their architecture and the art on the island. One of the famous works of architecture in Hvar is the Cathedral of St. Stephen. The cathedral dominates one end of the Town Square, and was built in 16th and 17th centuries. The bell tower of this cathedral is four-stories high, with each level more elaborately decorated than the last. Speaking of arts, unique ceramics are one of these works of arts. They are decorated with spiral ornaments in red, yellow, brown and white. These ceramics were found at a Neolithic archaeological site.

Getting To & Around Hvar
You can reach the island of Hvar using ferry. Most of the ferries to Hvar sail from Split, or surrounding islands or from Italy. You can drive to Drvenik on the mainland and take a regular car/passenger ferry to Sucuraj on Hvar Island.
