Jethou is a small island off Guernsey with handful of houses on it. It is privately leased and not open to the public. Jethou is located immediately south of Herm. This tiny island enjoys a temperate climate with mild winters and cool summers. The best time to visit Jethou is between the months of April to October.

Jethou is famous for its diverse and rich wildlife. It even has its own bird sanctuary. Jethou is home to almost 100 different bird species, making it a great destination for bird watchers. The island serves as a feeding ground year-round for robins, dunnocks, blackbirds, warblers, chiff-chaffs, and kestrels, to name a few.
Jethou managed to preserve its unspoiled beauty and lush greenery. The island is known for its beautiful sandy beaches that create a beautiful scenery. The island also supports a stunning forest that shelters a vast diversity of flora. This gives the island different view and color.

The lodging shares a lovely outside area with other cottages. Being a private island, it is also recommended to take camping tools and equipments with you. Camping by the beach may be the best accommodation in the island for it puts you closer to the natural beauty of the island. Dining in Jethou is uniquely splendid. You might enjoy cooking your food for your vacation. However, there are also restaurants all over the island.
Jethou Island Shopping & Nightlife
Spending an evening in Jethou is not like what you can expect from other islands in the Channel Islands. By dusk, you may enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset as the sun slowly sinks into the horizon and the light adding a touch of reddish orange to the sea. As night falls, you may light a campfire and talk about you day and forget about all the stress of the city. Shopping is a bit of a problem in Jethou. You can’t really have a shopping escapade. However, there are some shops and markets where you can find the things you need for your self-catering.

You can reach Jethou using a ferry or a boat ride from other islands near it. The nearest island to Jethou is Herm. You can avail a ferry ride from there.
