Herm Island Main Attractions
Herm is famous for its tranquility, and really does have to be seen to be believed. It is home to only fifty people, cars are banned and the only machinery you'll see is a tractor. In 2006 it was voted as the most scenic place in Britain. Being this tranquil the island has conserved the unspoiled treasures of nature and lush greeneries.
Other attractions of Herm are the unique beaches that embrace the island. Shell Beach is a particular favorite of families. Millions of shells wash up every year deposited by the Gulf Stream. The beaches are crystal clear, great for snorkeling and the waters are shallow which makes it ideal for swimming. The island is also a haven for wild birds with over 90 species calling Herm home.
