Saba Overview
Saba, known as "The Unspoiled Queen" due to the protection of its unique ecosystem, is a volcanic island in the Leeward Netherlands Antilles. Saba has a hot tropical climate, but tempered by the trade winds. The temperature of the island varies by no more than two or three degrees that a visit anytime of the year is great.
Saba Main Attractions
Known for being unspoiled, it doesn't mean that Saba is just another one of the typical island in Caribbean Sea. Since the island is not a reef island, it does not have the sandy beaches notable in the Caribbean, but rather mostly cliffs faces and rocky shores. The island, however, attracts tourists for the diverse and vibrant ecosystem and the unique diving experience for pinnacle diving, wall diving and many others.
Saba has the highest elevation in all of Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Mount Scenery. There are hiking trails to go up the mountain that starts just outside Windwardside. This hiking trails offer a nice view of Saba's flora and unique beauty. Some may pass old ruins, some delve into caves, some go around the uninhabited side of the island, some go through rain forests, and all offer something different.
Saba Activities
Saba is one of the top 5 in the world for scuba diving. So, guests can expect whole lots of activities related to diving, whether you're a beginner or a pro. The island is surrounded by sheer underwater cliffs, pinnacles, and the multitude of diving locations that offer a unique experience. Guests could also learn how to go dive. The people in the local dive shops are very friendly and great at teaching inexperience divers.
Saba Accommodation & Dining
The island of Saba caters to travellers who want to escape the buzz of larger hotels and resorts. Since, Saba's atmosphere is more quiet and secluded, hotels are generally smaller, but some do offer package deals. All-inclusive hotels and resorts in Saba give guests a total vacation package in one bill, which invites large crowds of travellers to stay at these types of lodgings. Most of the restaurants in Saba are small, locally owned establishments that serve a variety of cuisines and drinks. These restaurants welcome tourist and offer unique atmosphere and the best food in the island. The common theme is to be one with the nature and have that certain feeling while dining surrounded by the sounds and smells of the rainforest.
Saba Shopping & Nightlife
There are a few bars on the island including, Guido's, Lollipop, and Swinging doors. Again all of these places have the locals coming in at the end of the day, and its great way to absorb the local culture. The famous Saban lace, invented by Saba's industrious women, makes for an excellent souvenir. Cottages, villas, and houses of the sort are currently for sale on the island if guests want a unique shopping item.

The easier way to reach the island is booking a flight to Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport. Winair is the only airline currently serving flights on Saba.
