Aruba Overview
Aruba is a Caribbean island few miles north of the coast of Venezuela. The island is an autonomous dependency of the Kingdom of the Netherland. The climate is tropical, with seasonal temperature variation. A visit in the island is always great in any time of the year.
Aruba Main Attractions
Beaches in Aruba are always worth a visit and a stay. The Caribbean island is divided into the northeast and southwest. The concentration of most of white sand beaches, turquoise seas, and warm waters. If they are best for a swim and stay, northwest beaches are different stories. The northeast coast, exposed to the Atlantic, has a few white sand beaches, cacti, rough seas with treacherous currents and rocky coastline. So, it is great place to find some quiet time and relaxation for more tourists prefer the southwest.
Aruba seas also have something special beneath the surface, shipwrecks. There are two shipwrecks, the Boca Catalina and the Antilla Shipwreck. The Antilla Shipwrecks is the remains of a 400-foot German cargo ship that was anchored off of Aruba during World War II. The ship was a supplier to German U-Boats in the Caribbean and after Holland was invaded in 1940, the captain was given notice to surrender the ship. Instead of surrendering to Dutch Marines they sunk the ship by blowing up the boilers. The joke is that ėThey did not to surrender the cargo and they wanted to give future tourists a site to see.
Aruba Activities
For these great shipwrecks, tourists tend to snorkel this wonder. It has been sixty long years from the sinking of the ship that it is expected to be a habitat of a breeding site for amazing underwater life in the island. Apart from snorkeling, Aruba has amazing tours to acquire the amazing view of every historical remnants of the island and has those superb beaches that are great for swimming, lying for a relaxing sun bathe, and water sports.
Aruba Accommodation & Dining
There is an array of resorts located all over Aruba that caters tourists searching for a luxurious and even budget accommodation. Every resort in the island has every facility a tourist may be searching for. Many chain restaurants, both fast food and upscale, from the United States are present in Aruba, like Burger King, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Hooters. Fast food places are essentially no different than their American counterparts. So, if searching for a taste test to Aruba's cuisines, there are upscale restaurants.
Aruba Shopping & Nightlife
Nightlife is different in Aruba and by different it doesn't mean about the loudness and the energy, it means the drinks, the ambience and the people. Aruba has a national beer, the Balashi Beer. It is a must try beverage. There are many stalls, bars and pubs offering this must have drink. Aruba never forgets about shopping. There a strip malls and grocers at modest distances west of downtown and elsewhere. They offer most everything a visitor might need for short stays. Groceries and other supplies are all imported.
Getting To & Around Aruba
All air traffic will arrive and depart from the Reina Beatrix International Airport on the western side of the island. Aruba no longer has a national airline. American Airlines is a popular carrier that schedules flights from the gateways of New York, Boston, Miami and San Juan. Cruise ships can dock quite close to the downtown area, offering their passengers an easy walk to many stores and services.
