Waiheke Island is an island in the Hauraki Gulf, just off the North Island of New Zealand. It is the second largest of the Hauraki Gulf Islands, the most populated and the most accessible with regular ferry and air services. Situated in the Hauraki Gulf, Waiheke Island enjoys a subtropical climate and 100 km of coastline. The climate is slightly warmer than Auckland with less humidity and rain and more sunshine hours.
