Brampton Island Overview
Brampton Island is an island in the Cumberland Group, off shore from Mackay in Queensland, Australia. Brampton Island is mostly designated as Brampton Islands National Park, but there is also a resort on the island operated by Voyages. The island has a tropical climate with an average year round temperature of 27 degree centigrade. This average temperature enables visitors to have the best visit in the island all year round.
Brampton Island Main Attractions
Brampton is a Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. It is the best way to explore the Great Barrier Reef and have excursions from the island's own marina. The area has a rich density of marine life. By marine life, it means colorful corals and spectacular fishes. There is high speed catamarans that will whisk you to the Reef World moored in the outer reef.
Brampton has it all. It has a friendly, small town atmosphere; it is also a modern City with all the amenities: popular shopping malls and outlet centers, comfortable accommodation, an abundance of parks, lakes, rivers and conservation areas, museums and art gallery, and a sports and entertainment centre.

As Brampton Island is almost entirely National Park there are walking trails throughout the island, leading from the resort. There are guided resort walks including a garden walk, night walk and a birds & butterflies walk. If you want a break from lying on one of the seven beaches, there are a variety of other activities including catamaran sailing, windsurfing, a 6-hole chip & putt golf course, tennis, aqua aerobics, archery, basketball, beach badminton, beach cricket, beach volleyball and more.

Getting To & Around Brampton Island
Brampton Island has a choice of air to sea launch transfer service from Mackay Airport. Both Virgin Blue and Jetstar offer flights to Mackay. Regular flights are available from all Australian capital cities connecting to Mackay daily, with Virgin Blue and Qantas. Jetstar operates regular connecting flights from Brisbane to Mackay. Tiger Airways flies direct to Mackay from Melbourne. Flights to/from Mackay connect with the boat transfer to/from Brampton Island. The check-in desk is next to the Brampton Launch desk at the main airport at Mackay - adjacent to the Virgin Blue baggage carousel.
