Flores Overview
Flores island is one of the small islands of Sunda. The island is named Flores due to its abundant natural resources and wildlife history, the island is located east of the java islands, the island is shaped like an arc with 14,300 kilometer squared extending to java island’s east. The weather in Flores Indonesia is divided into two; the wet season usually happens in the month of November to March this means that the remaining months are understood to be the dry season. Although they have two seasons, the weather in Flores is not stable meaning it can shift depending on the wind and time of the year.
Flores Main Attractions
The known tourists’ attraction in Flores Island is the Kelimutu. Kelimutu is the name of the long extinct volcano that has become one of the most magnificent sights in the whole Indonesian archipelago. The Kelimitu has 3 large lakes at the top with different colors in it. They have the green lake, the farthest is the black lake and the largest is the turquoise lake, the sight of the 3 lakes is truly a sight made by the gods. Aside from these views, Kelimitu island also offers mountain hiking and trekking.
Aside from the Kelimitu, there is also other tourist’s attraction in Flores, Indonesia. The Komodo National Park is filled with komodo dragons that are open for tourists to look and visit. the Bajawa, known as the highland village in Flores is great in their coffee making system while the other three are the Ende, Labuan Bajo and Maumere each of them are great tourists attraction.

In Flores, Indonesia tourists can enjoy the breath taking view of the nature both forest and beach. People can enjoy diving; swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing at the beach or you can visit the mountains and trek or camp into it. There are lots of great places tourists can explore in this island. Every town has its own unique style in attracting tourists. Tourists can also enjoy the long sandy walk along the shore or taking pictures at the wild animals at the park.

Nightlife in Flores is not that much, but the silence and nostalgic ambience clearly makes the place very accommodating. They may hold parties at night depending on the season or occasion. Shopping can be done but no expensive clothing or accessories stores around. You can purchase souvenirs made by the locals.
Getting To & Around Flores
There are many airports in Flores you can board. The largest island, the Maumere, is the place where the main airport is located. There are also different boarding flights in Denpasar and Labuanbajo both in daily business. Boats for rental are used to get to one island to another the charge for the round trip is 1,000,000 rupees. Each person is equipped with a life jacket for their security.
