Boracay Overview
This spectacular island is a just an hour’s flight form the capital of the country, Manila. Visiting Boracay is always best during the summer season in the Philippines, starting late March to May. Peak season are during the Holy Week, Christmas and New Year so we are advising you to make your reservations and book for an early flight as well.
Boracay Main Attractions
Boracay’s white beach has been the most popular tourist attraction of the island. The long stretch of the beach is divided into three sections: Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3. The prime hotels and restaurants can be found at the widest beach front area at Station 1. The environment in this station is much more relaxing than those of the two other stations. However, one must understand that there is a higher price to pay.
Among the other attractions of the island is the Puka Beach which can be found along the northern tip of the island. It is the tropical beach that most people expects –white sand, clear blue water and relatively empty. Baling Hai Beach on the other hand, is a quiet little cove up north of Diniwid Beach. The Bat Cave is the part where insectivorous bats reside. The larger fruit bats can be found in the trees on the hillside just above Punta Bunga Beach. Aside from the bats which you can see at the ceiling of the cave down at its bottom –only if you have flashlights, the ceiling of the cave also boasts of small stalactites. A Php200 fee will be asked from you upon leaving the premises.
Boracay Activities
You can trail and explore the island using rented motorbikes or scooters to reach the other beautiful beaches that Boracay takes pride in. Boating is definitely a pleasure to do as well, on a cheaper note. Horse riding is possible and available in this island, just ask a tricycle to take you to the Boracay Horse Riding Stables. Scuba diving, Kite boarding and Skim boarding not to mention having a massage or relaxing in a spa in Boracay are among the common activities one could enjoy during their stay in the island.
Boracay Accommodation & Dining
A surprising number of bakeries would greet its wide range of international guests that the menu of Boracay’s dining has been designed to cater not just the local cuisine but as well as that of the other countries as well. The standards in accommodation do very depending on one’s choice from the luxurious hotels and resorts to the simple bed that one can rent from a resident.
Boracay Shopping & Nightlife
The nightlife in Boracay is extremely happening. With bars and cafes flooding the stretch of the white beach, there is no escape to the fun-filled night in Boracay with the booze filling everyone up. There are also a lot of great and cheap bargains along the stretch of the beach just make sure to hold on to your wallet.
Getting To & Around Boracay
One can get to Boracay either by plane or by boat. South East Asian Airlines, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific will be very much happy to attend to your needs. There are vessels that will allow you to bring your vehicle with you as you travel on boat. However, taking your car all the way to Boracay is no longer possible.
